Marina del Rey Parcels 49/77

Projects
Location: Marina del Rey, CA

Designed to recapture the true spirit of an authentic boating village, this mixed-use project combines multiple uses—boating amenities, retail, restaurants, housing, health club and an office building—to create a vibrant waterfront promenade. The retail component reinforces a healthy lifestyle defined by openness, simplicity, authenticity, personal exploration, sustainability, fresh foods self improvement, slowing down and getting back to basics. It is a feast of sights, sounds, aromas and taste sensations and a destination where dining, boating, biking and walking are encouraged.

“The Launch Marketplace” is conceived as both a gateway and a connector. This small commercial enclave offers a casual, leisurely experience with close connections to the local community. The housing element emphasizes direct waterfront access and a strong connection to marina activities. GMPA Architects, in association with Gensler, created the master plan and conceptual design for “The Launch”.
